our impact
where we began
After decades of work to pass the Fair Share and Safer Roads campaigns, community leaders debriefed to unpack the legislative roadblocks. We recognized the need for dedicated space and power to build the Commonwealth’s long-term vision for equity. The Collective was born in 2021 from these conversations, with the understanding that revenue is how we address these systemic inequities. In 2023, we received a three-year, $1M investment to launch this work, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved to date.
Where we’ve been
Regranted nearly $470,000 to 32 hyper-local community organizations across Massachusetts, prioritizing those led by BIPOC leaders, staff, and members deeply rooted in the communities they serve.
Expanded capacity and resources for 182 community leaders, empowering them to drive change within the Collective’s statewide network.
Hosted the School of Liberation training, uniting over 50 community organizers and activists to address historical trauma and systemic barriers facing BIPOC-led organizations. Participants represented base-building organizations from Boston, Lynn, Lawrence, Lowell, New Bedford, Fall River, Brockton, and Worcester.
